Learn About Student Success Planning

Student success planning is a guided, one-on-one process that helps you take ownership of your academic journey and make informed decisions — no matter where you are in your University of Miami experience.

Whether you're navigating a tough semester, thinking through your options, or trying to get back on track, a Success Advocate will work with you to build a plan that reflects your goals, strengths, and circumstances.

Student success planning may be right for you if:

  • You're a first-year student adjusting to university responsibilities and want to learn about resources to be successful
  • You're struggling academically and need help identifying what's getting in the way
  • You want to recover your GPA and need a structured plan to get there
  • You're close to graduation but facing obstacles to finishing your degree
  • You're not sure what you need — but you know something isn't working

Depending on your situation, when we meet we may discuss:

Area Examples
Academic Goals GPA recovery targets, course load planning, major exploration
Action Steps Specific tasks, deadlines, and strategies to implement
Resource Connections Tutoring, counseling, financial aid
Accountability Follow-up meetings, progress check-ins
Enrollment Options Inactive status, withdrawal, readmission planning

Every student's journey is different. We are here to make sure you are connected to the right resources and informed of all your options so you can make the best choices for your success.
